Answers to Common Questions

What to expect before, during, and after your remodel or repair project.

What types of remodel and repair projects do you take on?

Heylo Home handles projects ranging from larger remodels to smaller repairs. Services include bathroom and kitchen remodels, flooring, tile, drywall, doors, trim and carpentry, painting and finish work, fixture replacements, maintenance, punch lists, furniture assembly, and other improvements around the home.

What happens after I request an estimate?

Montana will contact you to get a brief understanding of your project and schedule a walkthrough. You will meet at the project location to discuss what you want, review the space, and take measurements. Montana will then prepare a written estimate for your approval. Once approved, the work can be scheduled and completed.

How far in advance should I contact you?

As much notice as you can provide is helpful, especially for a larger remodel or a project involving material selections. Scheduling depends on the size of the project and the current workload, so it is worth reaching out even if your timeline is still flexible.

Who will actually be working in my home?

Heylo Home is owner-operated, and Montana remains directly involved and accountable for the work. A qualified specialist may assist when a project calls for one, but Montana stays engaged and makes sure the finished work meets his standards.

How will you protect my home during the work?

Protection is matched to the project and your home. Depending on the work, that may include plastic, Ram Board, drop cloths, or floor-to-ceiling dust containment. Final cleanup includes wiping affected surfaces and vacuuming the work area and path out of the home.

How will you keep me informed during the project?

Once your project is scheduled, Montana will send an on-the-way text with his expected arrival time. He will also keep you informed as the work progresses and explain decisions that come up. Some homeowners enjoy hearing the details while others prefer a simpler overview, and either approach is welcome.

Who purchases the materials and finished fixtures?

Heylo Home generally supplies materials where accurate quantities and compatibility are important, such as flooring, tile, setting materials, grout, sheet goods, lumber, and shower systems. Homeowners usually select personal finish fixtures such as vanities, faucets, lighting, mirrors, and hardware, with guidance available whenever needed. Those selections should arrive early enough to inspect for damage and confirm that they will work in the space.

What happens if hidden damage or another unexpected issue is discovered?

Montana will show you what was found, explain how it affects the project, and talk through the available options. If additional work or cost is required, you will receive the updated scope and price in writing. Nothing outside the approved estimate moves forward without your approval and signature.

Are you insured, and is the work covered by a warranty?

Yes. Heylo Home is insured, and a certificate of insurance is available upon request. Labor performed by Heylo Home is also covered by a one-year workmanship warranty. Your contract contains the complete warranty terms and exclusions.

What happens when the project is finished?

Montana prefers to complete a final walkthrough with you so the finished work can be reviewed together and anything needing attention can be addressed. The work area is then cleaned, affected surfaces are wiped down, and the space is vacuumed. If you notice something after the walkthrough, reach out so Montana can review it.

What areas do you serve?

Heylo Home serves Jacksonville and nearby communities including Atlantic Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Ponte Vedra, Ponte Vedra Beach, Nocatee, Saint Johns, Fruit Cove, and Orange Park. If you are nearby but do not see your neighborhood listed, it is still worth reaching out.

Can I call instead of using the estimate form?

Yes. You are welcome to call. The estimate form is usually the easiest starting point because it puts your project description, contact information, and service address together in one place for Montana to review.
