Who Buys Remodel Materials and Finished Fixtures?
A clear purchasing plan keeps the project moving and makes responsibility easier to understand. I generally supply the construction materials where quantity, compatibility, and installation responsibility matter most, while the homeowner selects the personal finish fixtures they will see and use every day.
Materials I generally prefer to supply
For flooring, tile, thinset, grout, sheet goods, lumber, shower systems, and similar construction materials, I usually prefer to handle the purchasing. These products affect the installation directly, and many are quantity-dependent.
If a flooring or tile order comes up short, I would rather be responsible for correcting it than ask the homeowner to stop what they are doing and find more material in the middle of the project.
Fixtures the homeowner usually selects
Vanities, light fixtures, faucets, shower hardware, mirrors, chandeliers, towel bars, and cabinet pulls are more personal. Homeowners usually get a better result when they choose the style and finish they actually want.

Why fixtures should arrive early
Many finish fixtures are installed near the end of a project, but they should not arrive at the last minute. Early delivery gives us time to inspect for shipping damage, missing parts, unexpected dimensions, or compatibility problems.
If a replacement is needed, that lead time can prevent a damaged or incorrect fixture from delaying the final stage of the work.
